About me: Bella Spande

My Introduction to the current viewer:

Hi, I'm Isabel Spande, or Bella as most people call me, and the only final and true statement I can say about myself is that I love art.
I never really spend much time doing anything else than drawing, unless I'm indulging myself in another's creation from viewing a simple internet video to delving into a full-blown autobiography.
In recent years though, I really have taken more of an interest in all things media - video games, social media websites, YouTube, movies, TV shows, any and all cartoons.
My father is a lover of all things technological and geeky, so it didn't come as a surprise that I would grow to love these things as well. So on I grew, surrounded by my father's comic books and movies day in and day out, I started to draw. It began with movie and cartoon characters, people I knew and could just stick features and colors on. When I started taking art classes at the MIA I realized if I loved doodling as much as the next kid, (and wanted to kick his ass in it,) I would have to learn to render.
The specific correct definition of render is to make something come to be, or to make something, and in the drawing world it means 'draw something exactly how it looks'. Correct proportion, characteristic and emotion need to be captured to translate the essence of an image in its entirety. I decided to then focus on making things look exactly how they should look - until now.
I have always been a lover of Disney, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and any animation movie I could get my hands on, the fact that other humans made these little colorful creatures bounce around the screen, talk to each other and in turn tell a story? It was mind boggling! (Don't even get me started on video games.) I really liked how animation and cartoons had no rules or limits that could be reached, nothing HAD to look real! Each cartoon artist has their own recognizable style, and I liked that. I've been moving forward with creating my own cartoon style and hope to animate someday.
My current endeavor has been a combination of all my past ones: henna and body art. Tattoos also attract me because well, they're bad ass and a beautiful art form. They also sadly repel me because I have a huge phobia of needles, never had my ears pierced, and definitely NO tattoos. Yet henna gives me the opportunity to tattoo myself naturally, over and over again as many times as I want! As I got better doing henna other people wanted my hennas too, I was recognized for my art from my former elementary school's activities director to work the carnivals doing henna and face paint. I now work with BeArtrageous studios and I am sincerely happy :)
